United Geophysical (Nigeria) Limited currently has two land crews operating within Nigeria.
Both crews are conducting high resolution 3D seismic surveys in a complex environments comprising of elevated farmland, swamp/mangrove, riverine and urban terrain.
Key assets employed on the crew include; NuSies 5Hz single sensor GTI nodes, Boom Box-3 Autonomous Blasters, INOVA Univibe vibrators (28,000lbs) and RTK units.
The primary source is dynamite (2kg and 2.5kg charges with 35m and 45m single deep holes respectively) with Univibes as a secondary source within urban environments.
Monthly production averages around 100Km2 in the dry season and 75Km2 during the wet season. Recording operations are supported by up to 40 survey crews and 100 drilling crews which are required to keep pace with high nodal recording productivity.
Data quality is confirmed as excellent with improved S/N ratio when compared to conventional 10Hz geophone arrays.
