Engr Ezechukwu graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1985 with a B.Eng (Hons) in Electronic Engineering. He is a registered Engineer, MNSE 2003. Engr Ezechukwu joined UG(N)L in 1986 as a Seismic Observer and rose to Field Engineer, then Engineering Manager. He was appointed Relief Party Chief in 2007 on the Assa North prospect for SPDC.

Between 2009 and 2014 he worked with Geokinetics Inc Houston/Singapore as Snr Instrument Engineer in Angola (Kwanza Sonangol) and Bangladesh (Chevron). This was followed by brief spell with Nigdel in Nigerian as a Technical Auditor for an OBC project in OML233. He returned to UG(N)L as a Party Chief, a position he has held since 2017.
